Impermanent Loss

defiadvanced

Definition

The loss liquidity providers experience when the price ratio of pooled assets changes. Not 'lost' until withdrawal — if prices return to deposit-time ratio, the loss disappears. In practice, it's often very permanent.

Example

If you deposit ETH at $2000 and ETH doubles, you'll end up with less ETH and more USDC than if you'd just held.
