Kraken's parent to acquire CFTC-regulated exchange Bitnomial
Payward, the parent company of the Kraken crypto exchange, is acquiring Bitnomial — a derivatives exchange registered with the CFTC as a Designated Contract Market. Cointelegraph reports that the acquisition price was not disclosed, but Payward cited Bitnomial's regulatory licenses as the primary driver. The move accelerates Kraken's US derivatives roadmap: through Bitnomial's DCM license, Payward can list futures and options products without rebuilding regulatory architecture from scratch. Analysts see this as a direct response to Coinbase's ongoing futures push.
